How you work with and relate with people determines your success in business. You may want a complicated answer but the correct answer is simple: people.
Treat everyone with trust, respect and dignity. Will those qualities always be returned to you in kind? No. Regardless of their response, treat others just like you would want to be treated.
You may have noticed this is the answer for long-term business success. There are scrupulous folks who may get away with undignified behavior towards people down the ladder. This type of business, however, will perform marginally at best and will likely disappear into the wind.
A company may have a very good product or service but if the leadership disregards the people component of their business, the overall value of the organization will never reach its potential.
Life and work are both about people. We should enrich the lives of our family members and co-workers. In the end, life is not about money or possessions. Life is about people.
