Compliments Can Change Your Day
The other day I received a compliment and it totally brightened and transformed my day. The rest of the day I felt so much better. Those encouraging words were like a mental jump start that increased my ability to think, move and work.
Leaders can say words that merely convey information. Then there are those words that hurt, deflate and disable individual spirits. More importantly, there are words that motivate, inspire, uplift, create a singular focus, or just plain make you feel good to be part of a team.
If you are a business leader, be careful with the words you use among employees and coworkers. As a leader you have the power to lift up or tear down. Workers perform better when they are inspired by a sincere leader’s positive words. If you desire to build a great workplace, turn off the negative and focus on positive communication.
